Practitioner Description:
The Alexander Technique is a Simple, Holistic Method for improving ease of Movement and Poise, Reducing Tension and Stress Related Problems; Breathing Problems, Backache, Headaches and Fatigue are just some if the Symptoms that can be relieved. Improved Co-ordination and a more Energy Efficient 'use' of ourselves can also have a Dramatic Effect on our ability to perform and the Technique is widely used by Performers of all Fields, from Musicians, Sigers and Actors, to Dancers and all forms of Sports Activities.
An overall benefit commonly experienced through learning the technique is simply a sense of increasing lightness and ease within ourselves. Through greater 'psycho-physical' awareness of ourselves, we can observe the effect of stimuli around us and learn use this to our advantage. Unhelpful responses that lead to increased tension can drop away, leaving us with a greater sense of personal choice to take greater control of our lives.
