Practitioner Description:
Nicolette trained for three years at a STAT registered school. She spent many years in business and is still involved in the family firm, and has found The Alexander Technique extremely useful as a tool in dealing with the pressures of self employment, both physical and mental. She is a member of The Society of Teachers of The Alexander Technique and teaches full time giving private lessons and running introductory courses for people of all ages and levels of ability. Works in Trowbridge town centre and Westbury. The Alexander Technique is a powerful tool for use in all aspects of life. It does not set out to cure specific symptoms but it does help to uncover and change unconscious habit patterns which often underlie other problems. It is commonly learned for the relief of neck, shoulder and back pain and postural problems and is also used to improve a specific skill such as presentation and public speaking, singing, playing a musical instrument, or any other acitivity which involves co-ordination of body and mind such as horse riding or any sport. The Alexander Technique could be described as thinking in relation to movement and is holistic in that it deals with the whole person, developing a sympathetic relationship between body and mind.
