Energy Healing

Energy as defined by the dictionary is a 'vigorous exertion of power'. Einstein taught the world that Energy and Mass are interchangeable and that space and time are not absolute. This fact is the very basis of all energy healing therapies.

Energy healing works on the principle that all objects – animate and inanimate – are made of energy. Energy exists in a solid, concrete form and in an invisible, abstract form as well. Humans too have various energies that determine the well being of the body.

A human is not made up of just skin and bones. He is more than his physical self. The mental, spiritual and emotional aspects also influence the health and wellness of humans. Positive energy and negative energy both exist and play a role in the human body. When the negative energies outweigh the positive energies, the mind and body is negatively affected.

The basic philosophy of all energy healing is the balancing of opposing energies in the human body. When energies are well balanced then the body, mind and soul are happy and healthy. When there is an imbalance in energies health problems are manifested in various ways.

Balancing Your Energies

It is primarily the existence of negative energies in our bodies like fear, anger, resentment, jealousy, hatred, envy and greed that give birth to health difficulties. Any techniques that teach you or empower you to let go of these negative emotions will help balance your energies and restore wellbeing.

  • Love All: One method of balancing energies is to become the most loving person that you can. Simply give up all negative emotions and start loving everyone and everything around you. Mother Teresa is an example of a person who achieved greatness by her selfless love for others. She used energy healing to help the downtrodden across the globe and continues to be the symbol of hope for humanity.

  •  Recognition and Release: Another way to balance your energies is to first recognize the problem or the emotions that are causing the imbalance. You then need to surrender everything to God and let go of trying to control the situation and your life. Trust God to make everything okay for you and just live in the moment. This will release you from the grip of inhibiting negative factors in your life and allow you to live a happier, healthier life.

Chakras

Chakras are the energy fields or centres of consciousness within every living being. The Kundalini or Tumo is the energy associated with the chakras. There are seven chakras in the human body each of which is associated with different levels of consciousness, elements, developmental stages of life, colours, bodily functions, sounds and much more.

The seventh chakra is the crown chakra that relates to self actualization. It is the chakra that needs to be developed to gain wisdom, spiritual connection, knowledge and ultimately bliss. The sixth chakra is the brow chakra or the centre of the third eye. It is related to our psychic abilities and when healthy, allows us to put things in perspective.

The fifth chakra is located in the throat and related to communication and creativity. The fourth chakra is the vital heart chakra and the centre of love. A healthy fourth chakra determines our ability to love and be compassionate. The third chakra is located in the solar plexus and is the power chakra. It governs metabolism, energy and our ability for practical application.

The second chakra is located in the lower back and sexual organs and governs our emotions and sexuality. The first chakra is the foundation of our entire being and is located at the base of the spine. It is also known as the root chakra. It determines our survival instincts and the physical health of our bodies. It lies on the other end of the physicality-spirituality spectrum from the seventh chakra.

Different Kinds Of Energy Healing

Acupuncture:
This type of energy healing believes that Chi flows through the body in invisible channels called Jing Luo. The acupoints are located where the Chi rises to the surface of the body. By stimulating acupuncture points with needles, the acupuncturist can aid the easy and balanced flow of Chi through the body.

Acutouch:
This method of energy healing uses acutouch pointers that collect 'chi' from the environment, amplify it and transfer it into the patient's body. Two acutouch pointers are placed simultaneously on acupuncture points relative to the problem being cured. This completes the energy circuit and allows the chi to flow freely through the body and heal the patient.

Chinese Medicine:
The balancing of energies is the very basis of Chinese Medicine. Chinese medicine believes that man is a part of the universe and he cannot be separated from it. Chi is the life force that flows in all things. Obstruction or stagnation of chi leads to disease. Healing can be affected by enabling chi to flow freely through the body. Yin and Yang are the two opposing energies that cannot exist without each other. A balance of Yin and Yang is essential for good health. Imbalance causes malfunctioning of the bodily systems.

Crystal Energy:
Crystal therapy is the use of subtle vibrations emitted by crystals to clean, re-order and re-energise the body's energy fields. An experienced crystal therapist knows intuitively where the blockages are and can choose the right crystal to affect healing. Every crystal has its own aura, energy field and vibrations and affects the human body in different ways. Hence it is essential to choose the right crystal depending on the nature of the problem.

Moxibustion:
This is a Chinese therapy that uses the Moxa or Mugwort herb to warm acupuncture points and other areas of the body. This enhances the circulation of positive Chi energy through the body and helps heal the patient faster.

Reiki:
Reiki is a natural, holistic and hands-on healing experience. It also works on the principle that free flowing Chi is essential to the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional wellness of an individual. The Reiki practitioner makes available positive Chi to the patient. The patient must then seek the energy he requires and actively draw it from the practitioner. Thus, the patient takes responsibility for healing himself.

Qigong:
This is a Chinese therapy that teaches good health and preventive health maintenance through the art of breathing correctly. Qigong teaches various postures and the related breathing technique to keep the mind and body fit.
