Alkhemi is an ethical business enterprise, inspired by the wisdom traditions of ancient Egypt.
My name is Jacqui Taliesin El Masry. Over the last 25 years, I have studied many holistic modalities, but Egypt is my passion! I fell in love with Egypt on my first visit in 2000. Since then I have made another 20 visits, including spending an amazing year living in Luxor, where I met and married my soulmate, Mahmoud. I have spent the last decade working with Alkhemi Sekhem, and I am now developing “Alkhemi Yoga”, which combines holistic yoga with the spiritual principles of ancient Egypt.
Over 5,000 years ago, the ancient Egyptians had a sophisticated spiritual philosophy based on symbolism, which informed every aspect of their life and death. They saw the earth as a physical manifestation of heaven, a living symbol of the inner spiritual world, so everything was regarded as sacred. Life was seen as a continuous quest to unite with divine energy, which they divided into many different deities (gods and goddesses).
Alkhemi Sekhem is a system of natural healing and self-development with its heart in these ancient Egyptian wisdom traditions. It has developed during a decade of researching Egyptian mysteries and working intuitively with Egyptian deities.
There are two main principles of Alkhemi Sekhem. Firstly, it allows you to access an unlimited supply of beneficial, intelligent, universal energy in a safe, simple and natural way. The energy flows through your bio-field (body and energy field) and is guided by your hands to wherever it is needed, people, pets, plants, places, relationships or issues.
Secondly, ancient Egyptian metaphysical archetypes (gods and goddesses) are associated with each part of the human bio-field. Working in a sacred way with the mystical principles of each deity will support your body’s natural healing process, balancing and transforming any physical, mental, emotional or spiritual issues.
There is also an emphasis on self-development and personal responsibility, which I believe is essential to spiritual growth. Over ten years of teaching Sekhem I have been amazed at how often working in this way can bring about profound personal transformation. The ancient name for Egypt was “Khemet”. Arab settlers called it “Al Khem” from which the word “alchemy” is derived. Alchemy is often regarded as the science of changing base metals into gold, but it is essentially, and more significantly, a process of refining the spiritual self. This perfectly reflects its transformational nature, so I named this beautiful healing system “Alkhemi Sekhem”.
My vision for the future is to create an ecologically and ethically-friendly yoga and retreat centre in Egypt, where spiritual travellers can learn healing arts, practise yoga, contemplate ancient mysteries and realise their inner potential.
