| Has anyone else been seriously injured while in chiropractic care? I used to see a chiropractor every few months, but the last time I visited he twisted me in such a way that I was in agony for months afterward. Also is it normal for the dr. to begin manipulation and never ever had an x-ray done? |

| I was never seriously injured but I went to a chiropractor after a car accident. It didn't seem to do anything at all for me. It didn't lesson the pain at all. I kind of gave up on chiropractic care after that, but it could have been that I just had a "not so good" chiropractor. |

I would think x-rays would be a good thing to have before twisting someone's back... My husband goes to a chiropractor when he pulls his back out, and he swears by him.. He's a little unorthodox though and does the bending (of the back and spine) while having my husband bend and flex his fingers a certain way.. seems like he has an underlying, slightly different philosophy which I've forgotten.. He's real popular, though still a little scary, or so my husband says. The whole thing is scary to me and I prefer yoga! |

I would prefer Yoga too , but I would love to have had a chiropractor who gave great results. I think these chiropractors can sometimes build their own philosophy with each individual patient if they think it may work for them. |

| It is easy for someone to "crack" you the wrong way. It has never happened to me, but I have heard from people who had it happen to them and it was extremely painful and lasted a long time. |

Sounds like some of you have had some really unpleasant experiences! I see a chiropractor (and have done for the last 2 years or so). I didn't have an exra before he started work on me, but he is really good and actually rarely has to crack me at all. I go for regular healthchecks with him now, and actually what he mostly does is just put pressure on joints to push them back into place rather than cracking me. (He knows I don't like pain! LOL).
At the clinic where I go, they also do free spinal testing to see where the areas are that require treatment. _________________ Bright blessings,
