Practitioner Description:
Hypnotherapy may be viewed as an alternative health therapy by some but is viewed as a complementary therapy by many hypnotherapists, myself included. I developed my interest in what makes people work (or not) during the 12 years I spent as a lecturer at the University of East London. The role of counselling students became increasingly more important as the implications of the Widening Participation and the Life Long Learning initiatives were realised in higher education.
I decided that my practical counselling skills could be put to better use if they were offered to a wider group of people and after careful consideration enrolled on the Professional Practioner course. I was taught and trained by Terence Watts, a senior clinician and one of the most respected hypnotherapists and psychotherapists in the industry, at the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis.
I am a member of the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, the Hypnotherapy Society and the National Council of Psychotherapists.
As part of my ongoing professional education and development I am currently studying for the Advanced Dipolma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.
