Kinesiology
Kinesiology, pronounced KIN-EASY-OLOGY.
From the moment that I observed Kinesiology in action I knew that this was the therapy that I had been searching for.
The reason I personally think it is so good?
For me the fact that Kinesiology treats the WHOLE body and not just separate parts, unlike a lot of therapies, is a major plus. I immediately realised how many people it could help and that all the therapies I had been practicing could now be combined into one plus have extra benefits – the most fantastic being that it is the person’s OWN BODY that is telling THEM what they need whether it is Emotional, Physical, Chemical or Structural.
Background of Kinesiology.
Systematic Kinesiology was created by a Chiropractor named Dr George Goodheart in the 1960’s. He was tired of his clients coming back week after week with the same complaints, despite treatments being carried out. He experimented with one client by rubbing his leg. The result the client did not return. He started to question why and discovered that he had been rubbing a spot that contained Lymphatic glands. He immediately started to map out these glands in the body and test them with positive results. Gradually he consulted with his colleagues who specialised in acupuncture, neuro vascular, nutrition and Bach flower remedies, by using their knowledge he slowly added to the healing he was doing. By continually asking, “why is that?” he found the answer to many health problems. I always tell clients that Kinesiology helps to de-stress the body. Only when the body is de-stressed can we begin to allow our bodies to cure itself.
How does it work?
Muscles, organs and energy meridians form circuits within the body. Imbalances in these circuits on a physical, emotional or spiritual level can be determined by muscle testing. The practitioner checks a client’s ability to hold muscles from each circuit against light pressure. If the muscle feels “spongy”, this indicates an imbalance. Balance can then be restored quickly and simply, relieving energy blockages, reducing tension, and enhancing the body’s own ability to cleanse toxins and heal itself naturally.
What will the treatment be like?
Kinesiology is a natural drug-free therapy. To restore balance in the body, a treatment plan may include nutritional supplements, stress release techniques, Bach flower remedies, acupressure, gentle structural realignment, light touch, firm reflex massage and possibly some suggested lifestyle changes.
Why would I have Kinesiology?
You may have a specific physical complaint, which may be a chronic ailment or the result of a recent injury or just be feeling “out of sorts”
How many sessions?
Depending on your condition, how long you have had it, and how fully you participate in your treatment – between three to six sessions should show relief and health improvement. Kinesiologists are dedicated to preventative healthcare and many clients return for a health MOT two or three times a year.
