So what is Reflexology? Basically it involves applying massage sequences and light pressure on every area of the foot or hand to provide relief from stress, pain, insomnia, digestive problems, hormone imbalances, arthritis, skin problems, headaches/migraines, allergies such as hayfever, sciatica, infertility and more. Even when we are feeling well it provides benefits such as relaxation, improved circulation, immunity from illnesses and improves your mood and energy levels. Those who have experienced a Reflexology treatment at "Christine's" say they feel like they are walking on air, feel very relaxed and have "cleaned the house from top to bottom" or "got all those gardening jobs done" due to the increased vitality. Pain or illnesses are a sign that your body is not working as efficiently as it should and rather than just removing the symptoms with a painkiller, reflexology works on the whole body, finding the cause and balancing the area to promote healing.
And what is Reiki (pronounced Ray-key)? Reiki is a form of spiritual healing that works on the glandular/hormonal system. For example, when I work on the Thyroid Gland, healing is provided to the lungs, arms, throat and digestive tract and balances emotional conditions relating to communication, stagnation, responsibility, creativity and expression. To work on each area I would place my hands lightly on or over each gland/chakra and you may feel heat or cold from my hands, see colours, drift off into a semi-conscious state, feel energy move in your body and feel deeply relaxed. You remain fully clothed throughout. It's great for those who have difficulty sleeping and can't switch off. A recent client hadn't slept in months, fell asleep during the treatment and slept for 6 consecutive nights afterwards. It's also great for hormonal imbalances, depression, speeds up the healing system (useful before and after operations), to balance each bodily system and improve energy levels.
So would Reflexology or Reiki be best for me? Both therapies are great for all illnesses, pain, disorders, to energise, destress and relax but if you like to chat and be alert during a treatment then I recommend Reflexology. If you would prefer not to talk, completely relax or if you have an emotional or hormonal imbalance, then I would recommend Reiki. And I can allow you to experience both during your treatment session.

Why not treat yourselves to a mini reflexology or reiki treatment (15 mins: £10, 30 mins: £15 or enjoy 15 mins of Reflexology followed by 15 mins of Reiki for £15). Manicures and Pedicures are also available. Mobile Service is free within a 3 mile radius or for bookings involving 3 hours or more worth of treatments

March 2004: Anatomy and Physiology with the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology Diploma. 5 October 2004 - Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology via the Association of Reflexologists. 28th November 2005 - First Degree Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki with Ciaran Corr, Newry. 8th March 2006 - Second Degree Reiki. 28th November 2007 - Manicures and Pedicures Cert with Olivia Rodgers Nail and Beauty Academy. |
