Practitioner Description:
Jiwan is a highly qualified and experienced practitioner of Therapeutic Yoga. After her initial degree at King’s College, London, she went on to pursue further research in cellular genetics for several years. This sparked off her interest in breathing and the aging mechanism. She then trained in India under various teachers, one of whom was a disciple of the great Yogi – Dhirendra Brahmachari (who was Indira Ghandi’s teacher).
She then combined her knowledge of yoga with a forum of Indian classical dance for two years here in the UK under the guidance of a dance specialist. This led to the verification of how complicated movements co-ordinated with breath control could still bring about total mental relaxation and also the role of posture in making these movements seem fluid. This core belief is strongly followed in all her therapeutic yoga work.
She went on to complete a Diploma course in Sports Injuries Management in the UK in order to understand the role of yoga in injuries or post-operative care. This combination proved very powerful and soon being a yoga teacher completely took over.
Being methodical and scientifically orientated she has developed highly effective programmes to treat various ailments.
